Editorial/Advisory Board

Purpose

The Editorial Board will provide scholarly input, oversight, contacts, technical and moral support to the University of Chitral, Journal of Education Research. The member of Editorial Boards will usually serve for a term of three years, renewable for a further period(s) as required by the Editor. The members comply with the Journal’s ethical standards. The members of the Editorial Boards are expected to contribute substantively to University of Chitral, Journal of Education Research (UOCHJER) in the following ways:

  • The members advise editor and editorial staff on all matters connected with the aims and scope of the Journal.
  • Supply and discuss ideas to the editor for the development of the journal, formal or informal
  • Disseminate and raise the Journal’s profile among the institutions in which board members are active
  • The editorial board will review manuscripts close to board members’ primary areas of interests from time to time at the request of the Editor. (The review load should not exceed two to four papers per year).
  • Editors can review submitted manuscripts based on their feasible time, if time does not allow reviewing the manuscript, editors can suggest other reviewers.
  • Assist the editor in identifying more qualified colleagues to join the board and submit papers
  • Contribute their own original papers (theoretical, reflective and empirical papers to the editors)
  • Approach potential contributors to submit their best work /source articles for the Journal from colleagues and other appropriate contributors
  • Advise and support the Editor of the Journal to achieve the highest quality content, suggesting subjects to be covered/themed issues, assisting with peer review or finding referees, etc,
  • Provide cover for the Editor during any absences, as in a situation where a decision is required on a manuscript after peer review and the author is kept waiting.
  • Respond in a timely fashion to any editorial requests.
  • Give feedback on past issues and make suggestions for both subject matter and potential authors
  • Advise and take part in strategic reviews of the Journal, for example every two years.
  • The editorial board members make sure that published content is original.
  • The Editorial Board will maintain the highest standards of peer review, in line with the current guidelines from relevant bodies (e.g. COPE-the Committee on Publication Ethics org and Manual of American Psychological Association-APA)

    • Editors will be given highest priority in all the events that are organized by the University of Chitral.
    • Based on their kind contributions and their efficiency, there is a chance to serve as a prominent member of the advisory board.
    • After one year of due course, Editor-in-Chief will be announced for every journal based on their active participation, expertise in the field, contribution towards the Journal and also their contributions.
    • The review comments that are given by the editors will be strictly followed after which the authors will be requested to modify their manuscript according to the editor’s suggestions.
    • We promote all the articles of the Editors that are published in our journals, in various social networking groups from our end, increasing visibility for their works.
    • UOCHJER considers Editorials as a note to the young researchers and scholars.
    • Editors shall be honored in position as Chair/Co-Chair for any conferences organized by us and also the fee will be waived.
